SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - A total of 625 local real estate agents received the Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA) SG Real Estate Agents Excellence Awards 2024, which was held at Marina Bay Sands on Aug 16.
This is the fifth year SEAA has organised this award event, and the ceremony was graced by Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State, Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Home Affairs.
The awards ceremony was held in two sessions. It saw award-winning agents clinch awards across four categories.

The first session in the afternoon saw agents clinching the Salesperson Achievement Award for the Silver and Gold categories. The evening ceremony presented individual and multi-award recipients for the Salesperson Achievement Award in the Platinum and Diamond categories.
Other awards were the Outstanding Youths Award for agents aged 28 years and below, who took home a gross commission of at least $120,000 in 2023, as well as the Rookies Award for new agents who have demonstrated exemplary sales and rental transactions performance of at least $80,000 within 18 months in the industry.
Meanwhile, the Seniors Achievers Award recognised agents who are 60 years old and above and earned at least $100,000 for the whole of last year.
In his speech, Minister Faishal says that clients look to agents to help them navigate an increasingly complex real estate landscape and to take in their best interests. “As trusted professionals in your industry, you play an important role in helping your clients realise their home ownership aspirations, but also to safeguard their financial interests,” he says.
He also urged agents to speak out against errant agents who put up listings with misleading advertisements or online commentaries that contain falsehoods. “They disrupt the market and go against the ethical conduct and professionalism expected of every real estate agent. Creating, engaging in or promoting such practices severely undermines the reputation and trust that the real estate sector has painstakingly built up over time,” he says.

Adam Wang, president of SEAA, observed in his speech that there has been a notable increase in agencies participating in the awards this year, with the number of qualified applications for 2024 at over 600 awardees. “This is a testament to the credibility and professionalism that these accolades bring to their work in the real estate industry.”

“The awards build consumer trust and help agents gain a positive image by maintaining high standards of ethical conduct. This attracts integrity-focused clients and elevates overall agent standards,” says Wang.
Recent initiatives by SEAA, such as memorandum of understanding on best practices guide on co-broking commission, showcase its efforts to support real estate agents in Singapore. The co-broking best practice guide advocates agents to collect commission from the party they represent and to agree to all commission free arrangements prior to any engagement with clients.

The association also continuously reviews and updates its Continuing Professional Development courses in accordance to market needs. “SEAA remains committed to equipping our members with the latest technology tools and knowledge, enabling them to stay at the forefront of the industry and thrive in any market conditions,” says Wang.
