Laura Jockers joins M&G Real Estate as global head of ESG

Laura Jockers will work with M&G Real Estate’s global teams to drive the implementation of its ESG strategy.
SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Real Estate investment firm M&G Real Estate has announced the appointment of Laura Jockers as its global head of environmental, social and governance (ESG). She will lead a dedicated team with a focus on ESG to align with M&G’s broader policies and strategy in this area.
Jockers comes on board with 15 years of experience working within sustainability teams for property consultancies. She was previously head of sustainability at Howard de Walden Estate where she set the ESG strategy for its 92-acre portfolio. She was also a sustainability consultant at JLL.
In her new role, Jockers will report to Jose Pellicer, head of investment strategy and research at M&G Real Estate. She will work with M&G Real Estate’s global teams to drive the implementation of its ESG strategy and enhance the existing work being done by M&G’s funds on net zero commitments.

“(Laura) is one of the leading experts in real estate ESG with a deep understanding of how the industry can play a leading role in reducing carbon emissions and how we can be ambitious with our targets,” says Pellicer.
The investment firm says that it has achieved 80% of its 2025 target to acquire green certification for half of its global real estate portfolio by value.
