Khoo Teng Chye appointed ULI Asia Pacific chair

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Professor Khoo Teng Chye has been appointed as chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Asia Pacific region. He began his voluntary three-year term as chair on July 1. He succeeds Nicholas Brooke, chairman of Professional Property Services, Hong Kong. (See also: ULI Singapore appoints Khoo Teng Chye as chairman)
Khoo teaches at the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment at the National University of Singapore. He is also a fellow and former executive director at the Centre for Liveable Cities, a knowledge centre under the Ministry of National Development.

He will lead the regional effort on three ULI global mission priorities: decarbonising the real estate sector and targeting net zero, educating the next generation of diverse real estate leaders, and increasing housing attainability in communities around the world.
The ULI Asia Pacific branch will also develop key themes of work around building a presence in capital markets, technology and innovation. It also aims to grow its membership in new markets such as Indonesia and Vietnam.
“Being a ULI member is more important than ever as we collaborate to navigate some of the key challenges facing real estate,” says Khoo. “Pushing net zero to the top of our agenda is absolutely essential to ensure that we are creating sustainable and resilient cities.”
