SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Parc Riviera, a 752-unit development sitting on the bank of the Sungei Ulu Pandan River, has a plethora of wellness, fitness and kid-friendly facilities that are inspired by the development’s proximity to the Ulu Pandan and Pandan Gardens park connectors.
There is a large bicycle hub with 126 bicycle parking lots, which also comes with a self-maintenance bay where cyclists can repair their own bikes. There are five pools in the development — a 50m lap pool, leisure pool, kids’ pool, spa pool and aqua gym, and a number of playgrounds that are well-equipped with swings, a giant hammock and tree houses. There is also a Splashpad kids’ water playground.
Lim Yew Soon, managing director of EL Development, says that the pools in the development help to reduce heat gain in the ground and provide great views for the residents.

Some of the facilities are placed on the fifth floor, such as a Fun Zone playground, outdoor fitness area, spa pavilions and communal pavilions. Additionally, on the 36th floor, which offers panoramic views of the city, there is a pavilion with barbecue pits as well as a sky jacuzzi.
Completed in November 2019, Parc Riviera’s units range from one- to four-bedders, spread across two 36-storey towers. As Parc Riviera’s two towers are the tallest buildings in the West Coast, upper-floor units enjoy unobstructed views of the river, park connector and Pandan Reservoir. Units on the top floor at 36th storey have 4.4m-high ceilings in the living, dining areas, as well as certain bedrooms. Selected units also come with private roof terraces.
Parc Riviera is within a few minutes’ drive from Clementi Town, and the shopping malls at Jurong East — Westgate, Jem, IMM and Big Box. It is also in close proximity to the Ayer Rajah Expressway and West Coast Highway. When the future Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High Speed Rail comes into fruition, going from the development to Kuala Lumpur will take only less than two hours.

From the Pandan Gardens Park Connector, residents can walk, jog or cycle for about 3.5km and reach West Coast Park via the West Coast Park Connector. The Ulu Pandan Connector, which runs along Sungei Ulu Pandan, also links the development all the way to Buona Vista MRT Station.
Schools within a 2km radius include Nan Hua Primary School, Qifa Primary School, Tanglin Secondary School and Clementi Town Secondary School. National University of Singapore is a 10-minute drive away. Parc Riviera was developed and built by EL Development. The developer has used environmentally friendly construction materials approved under Singapore Environment Council’s Singapore Green Labelling Scheme when constructing it.
Units are also fitted with water efficiency fittings and wares. “We decided to go for BCA Green Mark Gold Plus certification from day one so that we can incorporate the usage of green materials in the building from the initial design stage,” says Lim.

These efforts towards sustainability have won the project the Sustainability Excellence Award at EdgeProp Excellence Awards 2020. In addition, it has won the Innovation Excellence and Top Development Awards.

Lim says: “Parc Riviera probably won these awards as it is one of the first high-rise projects in the world that has been completed using the new Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction Method. The awards are very meaningful to the team as they recognise the efforts that we have put in.”
When Parc Riviera was launched in November 2016, the developer offered a “fixed psf price” for each unit type from the lowest floor to the 15th floor. Of the 752 units at Parc Riviera, 13% were sold then. The rest of the units were fully sold within a year.

EL Development also launched its luxury residences Pullman Residences Newton, a 350-unit freehold property in prime District 11, for sale in November last year. Pullman Residences is a hotel branded residence, and will offer concierge services and upscale facilities, such as a club lounge and a wellness gym. Twelve out of the 25 units released during its launch weekend were sold at an average price of $3,000 psf.
