From May to July, EdgeProp received more than 50 submissions from 24 property developers for the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards 2017. There were nine categories, including Property Development Excellence, Development Innovation, Landscape Excellence and Marketing Excellence.
The Property Development Excellence Award category was sub-divided into Central area (prime districts and city fringe) and non-Central area (suburban districts). Two awards were given in each category. Projects were scored by our panel of judges, based on factors such as aesthetics, unit layout and facilities.

In the Development Innovation category, factors taken into consideration included concept, use of technology and environmental impact. Three awards were given to the projects with the highest scores submitted by our panel of judges.
Only one award was presented for Marketing Excellence, which was judged based on a project’s saleability, promotion and merits.
Likewise, for Landscape Excellence, only one award was given, and the judging criteria included ecological factors and sustainability.
The scores of all the projects were tabulated and ranked from highest to lowest. For developers who submitted more than one project for any of the award categories or multiple categories, only the highest score was taken into consideration. The developers with the highest overall scores clinched the Top Developer Award.
The category that was not judged by our panel but decided by the editorial team at EdgeProp is the Real Estate Personality of the Year. Another category that was not judged is Value Creation, which is based on quantitative analysis by EdgeProp Research.
For the People’s Choice Award, the audience on EdgeProp.sg voted for their favourite project over a two-week period.
