It is a popular choice for home buyers due to its relative proximity to the Core Central Region. With a variety of amenities such as restaurants, bars and shops, parks, gyms and business properties in the area, District 5 is perfect for residents looking for a lively location with both work and play spaces. District 5 has a good mix of property in terms of affordability, ranging from HDB flats to luxury condominiums to landed properties. District 5 also has a number of commercial and industrial properties around Clementi MRT, at Star Vista and One North. As a major financial and business hub, the Central Region stands as the dynamic city centre of Singapore. Spanning 13,150ha in land area, the region hosts Singapore's only UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to many of the country's national monuments, such as the Merlion Park and Statue of Raffles. Although the region is designated mainly for commercial activities, it houses residential developments ranging from HDBs to bungalows. There is also plenty of greenery in the region, linked by 19km of park connectors. According to the Master Plan 2019, Orchard and Downtown will be rejuvenated as a lifestyle hub to include more mixed developments which offer live, work and play opportunities. New housing will be constructed in the Marina South Area with community facilities and amenities. Stage-6 of the Circle Line opening by 2025 will also enhance the Central Region's connectivity.

"Let the locals deal with this type of restaurant as a visitor you will not get what you deserve. Selling us a black pepper crab for 5 people and charging accordingly and serving some bones and shell. Claiming it is 1.2kg crab, we were sure it would not even weigh half of it. But as we asked to bring out the scale they obviously refused. So please people go to the Jumbo seafood chain at least you get and pay what you asked for. Do not mind the service as it is part of concept, 25 years ago they were grumpy and hurry hurry and they still are. But their crab is fabulous. Forget about this Long Beach cheating chain. Added info after the response of the restaurant: I am perfectly aware how the crab is prepared and the weight works, please take your customers serious that is exactly the point. So some photos to show the difference. First crab from Long Beach (supposedly 1.2kg) 2nd and 3rd Jumbo (+- 1 kg) take your pick. Will add those later does not seem to work at the moment."

"Solid Cantonese seafood and dim sum. The fish tanks are filled with quality seafood from all over the world. Black pepper crab is a must along with the laksa and prawn. Service is friendly and very helpful with suggestions. My favorite dish was the silverfish fried rice. It sounds simple but cooked perfectly!"

"It was a farewell cum birthday dinner. Dinner was early 5.45pm. We were given a non Aircon dining area but given the weather and the timing. The ambience was lovely and quiet. In our haste, I actually forgot a cake which we bought. When I told the Manageress about it and asked if she could arrange a small cake for me, I was pleasantly surprised that she offered the Longevity Buns, since it was my hubby's birthday. Lovely touch by the team. They sang a rousing birthday song for my hubby. Love the personal touch. Our friends loved the food and the place. They said that they would be back for more crabs and food when they next visit Spore. Crowd started streaming in at around 6.30pm. Staff got really busy. Thanks for a memorable experience."

"Went to have dinner on a Saturday evening. Food was not bad and the service from the waitresses (who took our orders and served our food) were great. However, our family was very disappointed with how our table was allocated. We have made a reservation at least 3 weeks earlier and i specifically mentioned in the remarks that i have a puppy with us and to allocate us a nice table outdoors. However, when we were there, the hostesses (the ones who brought us to our seats) said that we did not mention we have a puppy with us! May i ask what is the point of the online reservation if you do not take down customer's remarks Its fine that they leave out our remarks as they said they can give us a corner table outdoors. However, when they brought us to the table, we were super unhappy with it because it was a high table. We had a puppy with us, how were we suppose to watch over our puppy and eat at peace with a high table After which, they set up a table for us at a very weird place. At this point, why did we even bother making a reservation for Overall, food was great but please do something about your table allocation to customers and remember to note down their remarks/requests!"

"Went twice for dinner during a 10 day trip to Singapore. The pepper crab and drunken prawn still taste the same as when it was served in a reclaimed strip mall in East Coast or in that colonial building which was razed to make way for Sand's. Love the outdoor setting in Dempsey. Do some shopping at Dover Street Market and then head over here to eat."
