The North-East Region is the second largest and most densely populated of the five regions in Singapore, with Sengkang being its most populous town. Spanning 13,810ha, the North-East Region is mainly a residential region and housing estate largely comprised of HDB flats. In addition to a myriad of amenities including hospitals, parks, schools and transport options, the region is also home to a few tourist attractions such as Pulau Ubin and Coney Island. Seletar Aerospace Park, which comprises of several aviation manufacturing and research facilities by companies such Rolls-Royce and Singapore Technologies Aerospace, provide employment opportunities to residents both within and beyond the region. Sengkang General Hospital, a 1000-bed hospital, is the largest in the region and is built to further the government's efforts to provide quality and accessible healthcare to all Singaporeans.

"Has called the customer service number and was put on wait for more than 25 mins, still no one picks up the call. Literally forcing the caller to give up... A friendly staff finally answered after 30mins of waiting. He sounded stressed though. I wondered if the office is grossly understaffed"

"Was disturbed by a faulty pipe issue for almost 2 months. Always having loud noise in the odd hours. Contacted Nee Soon town council and was handled by a young gentleman name Shane Quek. I understand that to remedy this, it really need a lot of time, effort to visit door by door checking on which unit causes this "disturbance"! Shane contacted us day in day out, updating the floor and unit he has went to check. For a week or so, FINALLY!!!! A fantastic and helpful chap, very accommodating and putting a lot of effort to check on the issue we reported. The plumber fixed the faulty tap and now the sound has gone. Many thanks to Shane and his team, we appreciate so much for your effort put in! Thank you Housing & Development Board - Yishun Branch Best Regards!"

"Update 6 January 2020: Lifts under repair. Have to walk up. My vehicle IU went dead suddenly. After a two hour wait at Vicom Yishun to get it replaced ($155!) I was frazzled to have ti rush to HDB Yishun to update my season parking. No hassle there. Yes only one person at the counter at lunchtime. She (Michelle) handled the tenant before me very well. Was most reassuring to me. Fixed the problem and I was off in 12 minutes. Forgot my driving license. She called me several times and was most apologetic when I returned after a few hours. Yeah. Well done HDB. Ignore the brickbats. Slow and steady does it"
