"I've stayed in one of their appartments for four months and have been utterly disappointed with Hmlet. When I moved in I encountered countless issues... ranging from broken sockets, broken LED stripes in the bathroom, defect kitchen appliances, cockroaches in the kitchen & bathrooms, etc. etc. They only provide this anonymous email adress / support hotline and would never tell you with whom you're actually dealing with. Phrases I've heard a hundred times were "we are arranging with contractor", "we will update you the soonest" "still pending... bear with us",... I had these contractors coming over here and there yet none of the issues ever got fixed! Hmlet might be an option for people who move-in with their own toolbox, have plenty of time and lots of motivation to renovate the place themselves... should you not belong to this group do yourself a favour and pick another company."

"Very bad experience of hmlet about credit and commitment experience for their sales team All tenants please be careful, ask agent write down anything they promise. they will forgot everything they promised after you signed the contract. All communication must write down and sent by message and keep the evidences. Do not communicate by verbal conversation and call only. They are very busy and easy forgot what they promise. She promise to remove mattress free of charge for first time any time on viewing date on 20th April and can raise request by their hmlet. 16th May, After move in, request by hmlet app and message them. Raised ticket by app and get canceled without any reason. After that contact directly to sales and support team. Two support team member never give the answer only keep ask question and never mentioned $400. That sales agent check after few days, after that they have many internal discussions and suddenly come up and reply me $400 for removal mattress even first time. She just promise without keep promise to tenant. 25th May, Official only reply and protect their staff only forgot everything what she said before. 26th May, still no follow up after I requested to talk to management. This is their so called world class member experience brought to us by hmlet. Wonder how to do long term business with them with provide such a member experience."

"I've stayed with hmlet for 5 months at Tiong bahru blk 55 from 2020 oct. My experience with the studio unit is not the greatest, all in all I would say the studio is not very thoughtfully structured, and weird. Maybe hmlet does not own the shophouse, hence there's limitations on what they can do to maximise comfort for tenants But yea the walls are thin, like a thick cardboard I would recommended for in person viewing so you will know if it's for you. There are definitely issues with the shophouse when I was living there. I think the most frightening one was I was working at night, when I unfold my legs and hit the floor, I was in a paddle of water soaking ard half my foot height. All my cables were already in the water. I can only thank all kinds of god that I'm still alive. Knowing the rich history with blk 55 tiong bahru, I take that experience that I was just unlucky. But yes, for the price I was paying per month, the standard of living does not justify. Their customer service Great. 24hrs hotline. All contractors that I had were professional and truly good at what are doing. Their app is super user friendly, all issues created are responded within the same or next day. I admit I ended my rental with hmlet is due to a couple of misinformed incidents, water piping problem with the place. Mostly is the studio does not fit my comfort level and price I'm paying. I was unpleasant to deal with nearing the end with all the frustrations, but the level of professionalism from them was held high and consistent till the end. I really appreciate that. I will give it another go with hmlet if I'm back in Singapore again. But definitely not a shophouse anymore :/"

"Horrible organization. Lived in one of their houses for 4 months which was overpriced to start with but then also had a large array of defects (showers not working, broken TV, broken AC, no shelves in the fridge etc.). Hmlet was very unresponsive in resolving these issues and only threats not to pay the rent would make them undertake action. Never rent from them!"

"Extremely misleading and arbitrary practices of quoting prices different from what they offer. The website states a different price from what they usually offer and they justify it by calling it a conditional offer, this wont be mentioned anywhere in their terms and conditions or their contract. Arbitrary increase of rent prices without notice. Secondly no response almost ever on their contact number provided on the website. Terrible experience with the management as well. They do not provide any clear justification for the misleading prices. Please be aware of random price changes without any notice and not proper justification for the same. Misrepresenting prices on their website."
