Sengkang also offers a wide array of work and play amenities, with the main shopping mall Compass One being Singapore's first thematic shopping centre based on the theme of learning.

The North-East Region is the second largest and most densely populated of the five regions in Singapore, with Sengkang being its most populous town. Spanning 13,810ha, the North-East Region is mainly a residential region and housing estate largely comprised of HDB flats. In addition to a myriad of amenities including hospitals, parks, schools and transport options, the region is also home to a few tourist attractions such as Pulau Ubin and Coney Island. Seletar Aerospace Park, which comprises of several aviation manufacturing and research facilities by companies such Rolls-Royce and Singapore Technologies Aerospace, provide employment opportunities to residents both within and beyond the region. Sengkang General Hospital, a 1000-bed hospital, is the largest in the region and is built to further the government's efforts to provide quality and accessible healthcare to all Singaporeans.

"A condominium residency in Singapore at Hougang near serangoon end not far from the Nativity Church. I love the setup as the blocks surround the swiming pool and lots of trees to create a quiet, exclusive kind of setting and environment. The units are not big but sufficient to accomodate the type of families. Ample parking provided in the basement and security is reasonable with visitors needing to get permission from tenants and owners before being allowed in. You have shops and schools nearby and the local trasnportation is a stone throw away."

"Surrounding areas seem good as lot of eateries but condominium itself seem "cramps"... It seem we could "see others" from the opposite side... 3 rooms seem a little small but master bedroom a little bigger than others condominium thou... Guards outside are friendly..."

"Very poor management, security guard attitude is bad, intercom customer but they are not at home, and we are unable to deliver our items to them though they already gave green light to allow us to deliver to their doorstep. It's ridiculous that the guard refused to open the barrier for us to enter. Really spoil my day. Was lucky customer will be back in few minutes time. If not all the rest of the deliveries will be delayed because of this stupid guard. I hoped the management looked into this matter, we as a delivery guy is always rushing, we have no time to play with you all such game."
