Other major economic activity includes manufacturing, with industrial estates in Bedok, Changi, Pasir Ris, Tampines and Paya Lebar. Changi Business Park also hosts a number of MNCs such as Standard Chartered and IBM. Going forward, the government has plans to create more semi-conductor and aviation-related jobs at Tampines North, Pasir Ris and Changi. Aside from the bustling economic activity, residents benefit from a wide variety of green and play spaces in the region. Residents will also enjoy increased connectivity to other parts of Singapore with the upcoming Cross Island Line and Thomson-East Coast Line.

"I stay in a 2storey landed property and noticed the rust on the metal flushing of the roof and algae on the sides. A school friend recommended 2 contractors who came by a few months before Chinese New Year 2022. However, neither gave any indications that they were interested nor able to take on the task. Various excuses were given about manpower issues. One even said that the roofing works to be carried out is complicated and quoted me a ridiculous sum. I chanced upon the website of J&K Roof Contractors and spoke to Kevin on Sunday 06/03/22. He promptly arrived on Monday 07/03/22 with his supervisor to carry out a preliminary survey of the roof and the works required. That same evening, Kevin submitted his quotation for the works to be done and included clear photographs taken during the survey. As I did not understand the full nature of works to be done, Kevin dropped by on Tuesday morning 08/03/22 and gave a clear and detailed explanation to my wife and I. He confidently told us that all works would be wrapped up successfully and satisfactorily within 9 working days and that the works carry a 3year warranty period even though the quality of the works will last beyond this period. Work commenced on 10/03/2022 and ended on 20/03/2022. (9 days exactly minus 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday) His supervisor, Shahid, led the team with 2 other Bangladeshi workers. From the very beginning, the team impressed me with their professionalism and excellent work ethics. All the essential tools, sealant, waterproofing material and paint were offloaded and placed neatly and safely by the side of the house and covered with plastic sheets at the end of the day to protect from the rain. Shahid and his team did an excellent job in water-jetting all areas that had algae on it and removing all rust from the metal flushings. Roof tiles were checked too. Gutters were thoroughly cleaned. Sealer and waterproofing were applied before painting works. Shahid and his team were also amenable to our request to have Power Seal waterproofing applied on some surfaces after water jetting down said areas. Throughout the 9 days assignment, Shahid and his men arrived early and only took their lunch and tea breaks as scheduled. Before wrapping up for the day, they tidied up and kept away all tools safely. I must commend Shahid for his initiative in taking pictures of the roof pre and post works done and forwarding them to Kevin who in turn sent us the said pictures. My family and I are very pleased with the professionalism exhibited by Kevin and his team, their mindfulness in adhering to safety guidelines, the quality of work done and the down -to earth and very reasonable price quotation. I, therefore, have no hesitation in recommending him and his company for any roofing works to be done."
