Former Manchester United and England footballer turned property developer Gary Neville is launching W Residences Manchester jointly with property developer Salboy. The project launched in Singapore over the weekend of Nov 11-12 at St Regis Singapore with Savills as the exclusive marketing agency. A total of 10 units were taken up over the weekend, according to Savills.
Units sold were a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom units at prices ranging from GBP386,000 to GBP805,000, said Savills on the evening of Nov 12.
The 217-unit W Residences will be part of Neville's GBP400 million ($665 million) landmark development, St Michael's, an iconic 41-storey tower that includes the 162-room, five-star W Hotel, which is set to open in 1Q2027.

W Residences Manchester is the brand's first outside London and one of only 20 worldwide. W is part of the stable of hotel brands under Marriott International. Residents at W Residences will enjoy all the amenities and services of a W Hotel, including 24-hour concierge service, round-the-clock in-residence dining, laundry and dry cleaning. Amenities include a pool, spa, and signature W spaces such as the living room, Lounge, wellness facilities and gym. It will also feature distinctive dining concepts such as the Nikkei restaurant brand, Chotto Matte.
Adjacent to the W luxury hotel and residence tower is No. 1 St Michael's, a nine-storey, 75,000 sq ft office block, which is expected to be the city's first fully Net Zero Carbon commercial development. A public square with the historic Sir Ralph Abercromby pub, which is being refurbished, sits between the two buildings at Nos. 1 and 2 St Michael's.

The development is located within Manchester's architecturally inspiring and historic civic quarter and connects the Spinningfields business district with Chinatown and the city's designer retail stores.
"W Hotel and W Residences are going to put the distinctive 41-storey tower, No. 2 St Michael's, on the global map," says Neville, director at Relentless Developments. After retiring from a 20-year career in professional football, Neville established himself as a property magnate and businessman by launching Relentless Development with Anthony Kilbride in 2015. Projects include Hotel Football in Old Trafford and the Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre of Manchester.
