The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has appointed Alan Beebe as its new CEO for the Asia Pacific region. His tenure at ULI started on Aug 2, and he will lead the non-profit organisation’s strategic growth plan which includes expanding membership and increasing engagement.

“As ULI charts a path for further growth and more local engagement in Asia Pacific, particularly in vital markets like India, Vietnam, and the Philippines, I am confident that his strategic guidance will only further strengthen our position and enable us to drive profound and lasting impact in the cities and communities we serve,” says Ron Pressman, ULI global CEO.

Beebe was previously president of the American Chamber of Commerce in China and has three decades of experience working in the Asia Pacific region. In his previous role, Beebe spearheaded initiatives to foster more robust US-China commercial ties. His experience includes senior executive roles in global consulting firms across manufacturing, real estate, energy markets, and green technologies.

“Asia Pacific is urbanising rapidly as countries across the region continue to enjoy economic growth, but its communities also face complex challenges related to climate change, lack of affordable housing, and the need to plan for sustainable growth,” says Beebe.

He adds that ULI Asia Pacific plays a vital role in bringing together cross-disciplinary experts and stakeholders to build resilient and sustainable cities.
