UMS Holdings acquires industrial land in Penang for RM15.2 mil

Singapore-listed UMS Holdings has acquired industrial land in Penang Science Park North, Malaysia. The group announced on July 1 that its wholly owned subsidiary, Ultimate Manufacturing Solutions, had invested RM15.23 million, or about $4.5 million, in the plot.

The 60-year leasehold industrial land spans 5.38 acres (2.18ha), or about 235,000 sq ft. It is strategically located between two industrial parks, Perai Industrial Area and Batu Kawan Industrial Park.

The latest acquisition brings the group’s portfolio to more than 1.2 million sq ft of combined space in Singapore and Malaysia.

Andy Luong, UMS Holdings’ chairman and CEO, says that the land is located next to the group’s factory in Penang and will be used to expand operations. UMS Holdings specialises in the manufacturing of semiconductor components.
