Christina Chiam moved to Yishun five years ago to be closer to her workplace. The sales gallery of North Park Residences is located near her office. Every time she passes the sales gallery, she makes it a point to look in at the show suites. North Park Residences is part of the Northpoint City integrated development slated for completion in 4Q2018. “I love the integrated concept, and the convenience the development will bring,” she says. What is attractive are the family-sized four- and five-bedroom units, which are well designed and have a spacious layout, adds Chiam.
The layout of units, especially the four- and five-bedroom unit types, will appeal to a wide variety of owner-occupiers and investors.
Like many others working and living in Yishun, Chiam is looking forward to the opening of the 1.33 million sq ft Northpoint City mall, which will have more than 400 F&B, retail, entertainment and education offerings.
Wide spectrum of lifestyle options
Chiam says Northpoint City will be a convenient meeting place for the community and offer an alternative to having to travel to Orchard Road or the city centre. “It’s nice to have all these lifestyle options,” she says. “I can spend more time catching up with friends and family instead of commuting.”
The 4,400 sq m town square, located above Northpoint City mall, is ideal for community activities. like art and dance sessions, as well as an event venue.
She likes the variety of communal spaces where residents can gather with families and friends. In addition to the expanded mall, Chiam likes the idea of the rooftop garden, where residents can socialize and children can play. Likewise, the town square will be ideal for community activities such as dance or art jam sessions, she adds. It is also an ideal venue for the community and companies to hold events in the area, Chiam adds.
While there are pockets of greenery around Yishun, the most picturesque is the Yishun Pond and the adjacent Yishun Park just a five-minute walk from North Park Residences.
“It’s really nice to be close to nature, and you can walk or cycle around the pond,” she says. “It’s a nice quiet place for families on weekends, and it’s also popular with people working around the area, as they can take short breaks and destress.”
Conveniently situated nearby are healthcare amenities such as Yishun Polyclinic, Khoo Teck Puat General Hospital and Yishun Community Hospital.
Yishun Pond and the adjacent park is a five minute walk from North Park Residences, and healthcare amenities like Khoo Teck Puat General Hospital are situated nearby.
Convenience and connectivity
As Northpoint City is just a 10-minute walk from Chiam’s workplace, a three- or four-bedroom unit at North Park Residences sounds like an ideal dream home for her family. The bonus is that she will no longer have to commute to work.
In the event that she has to commute, she says, she will have the option of using the MRT and bus interchange at Northpoint City. Besides the existing link, there will be a new underground retail link connecting Northpoint City to the Yishun MRT station on the North-South Line.
Many residents around the neighbourhood are eagerly anticipating the opening of the 1.33 million sq ft Northpoint City mall, boasting over 400 F&B, retail, and entertainment outlets.
It is also a 40-minute train ride to Orchard Road and a 45-minute train ride to the City Hall Interchange Station for the North-South and East-West Lines. The Bishan MRT Interchange Station for the North-South and Circle Lines is just four MRT stops from Yishun MRT station.
Resort-style facilities
Designed by acclaimed Singapore-based architectural firm, ADDP Architects, the 920-unit North Park Residences comprises 12 ten-storey blocks occupying a 442,238 sq ft site located on top of Northpoint City. Units are a mix of one- to five-bedrooms of 431 to 1,432 sq ft.
Residents of North Park Residences can enjoy 88 dedicated lifestyle facilities, 10 themed coves and three themed gardens. For example, the Waterfall Garden will have facilities catering for families.
Over 88 dedicated lifestyle facilities are available at North Park Residences for residents to enjoy.
The Adventure Cove is where children can indulge in active play while parents can keep an eye on them and still entertain friends and family at the barbecue pavilion or lounge areas. At the Fountain Garden, there is a Spa Cove, a 50m lap pool and an oasis.
Developer track record
North Park Residences is not the first multi-billion-dollar integrated development that Frasers Centrepoint has been involved in.
It also developed Singapore’s first integrated development in Sengkang in the northeast region. Completed in 2002, the project comprises Compass Heights, a 536-unit private condominium, which is linked directly to Compass Point Shopping Centre (now rebranded Compass One), the Sengkang MRT station and an air-conditioned bus interchange station.
Frasers Centrepoint is also part of a consortium that developed Watertown, a massive integrated development also in the northeast, at Punggol Central.
The private condo is linked to Waterway Point, a 370,824 sq ft mall with more than 200 retail and F&B outlets. As the mall is adjacent to the scenic Punggol Waterway, there is a boardwalk for people to enjoy the water view. The integrated development includes a town square and a visitors’ centre, the Punggol MRT and LRT stations as well as the bus interchange. Completed in September, Watertown’s 992-unit private condo is fully sold.
Limited units available
Given Frasers Centrepoint’s track record with integrated developments, it is no surprise that North Park Residences was an instant hit with both homebuyers and investors when it was launched 2½ years ago. More than 95% of the units have already been taken up ahead of its completion in 4Q2018. Two- to five-bedroom units are available from $1,263 psf for a limited time.
