Mazen Abilmona, a 25-year hospitality veteran, was appointed as the new general manager of Pullman Singapore Hill Street on Sept 6. The 350-key hotel operated by the hospitality group Accor will open on Oct 1.
A hospitality management graduate, Abilmona started as an F&B service supervisor in 2001 at Fairmont Dubai, rising to F&B director by 2007. He has also led rebranding projects in properties, including Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort in Hainan and Fairmont Riyadh in the Saudi capital.
Abilmona specialises in F&B-focused hospitality properties across the Middle East, China and Singapore. He also served as cluster hotel manager of both Sofitel Singapore Resort and Spa and SO/Singapore before moving to the hotel and F&B operations and leadership roles across various Sofitel properties.

In a press release, Abilmona says the hotel aims to create “the ideal playground" where "there are always new things for guests to discover”. He adds: “While I’ve been involved with numerous pre-openings and properties, it’s a different responsibility this time, with a brief that pushes me to dream differently…. but my team and I are up for the challenge and incredibly excited to explore the possibilities”.
