SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Bangkok-headquartered international hotel owner, operator, and investor Minor Hotels is expanding its presence in Europe and targeting “millennial-minded travellers” through its lifestyle brand Avani Hotels & Resorts.

Avani already has a hotel in Portugal and will open five new hotels in Europe in the next two years: one in Spain, two in Italy, and one in Germany. A sixth hotel will open in the Netherlands next year.

It will open the rebranded 101-room Avani Alonso Martinez Madrid Hotel in Spain. Italy will open two rebranded hotels: the 65-room Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan Hotel and the 144-room Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel. Germany will see the launch of the rebranded 256-room Avani Frankfurt City Hotel later in the year. The 163-room Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel in the Netherlands will open in 2Q2024.

The brand will also extend its footprint to Central and South America with hotels in Mexico and Columbia. It will launch the 140-room Avani Cancun Airport Hotel in Mexico in 3Q2023, followed by the 66-room Avani Royal Zona T Bogota Hotel in Colombia in 4Q2023.

Launched in 2011, Avani Hotels & Resorts has 38 properties in 20 countries across Asia, Australasia, the Middle East, Indian Ocean and Africa, including a hotel in Portugal, Europe.

Minor Hotels currently has more than 530 hotels in operation. According to Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, expanding the Avani brand’s footprint into Europe and Latin America reflects the group's strategy of expanding and diversifying its hotel offerings in the upscale tourist segment.
