Minor Hotels, the international hotel owner, operator and investor, announced the signing of a new 181-key Anantara resort to be developed in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The owning company, Dubai-based Infinity Group, chose Minor Hotels and the Anantara brand to manage the new property. Anantara Zanzibar is currently under development as part of Infinity Group’s Africa portfolio.
Located on the northern coast of Zanzibar Island, the resort will launch in 2027 and join the group’s portfolio of over 540 hotels globally.

The new property will house 37 luxury suites, one presidential villa and 73 one- and two-bedroom sea-view villas, each featuring a private pool. The resort includes an additional 38 one-bedroom apartments, 19 two-bedroom apartments, eight three-bedroom penthouse apartments and five penthouses.
The resort will be equipped with amenities including a spa, kids/teens’ clubs, fitness facilities, a pool, a library, and a range of culinary options including six restaurants and bars. Meeting and event spaces will also be built alongside an executive lounge and business centre.
