SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Global asset manager and operator Keppel’s latest data centre in Singapore, Keppel DC Singapore 8, has earned the Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) Green Mark Platinum Award. This is the highest green accolade conferred by BCA.

Keppel DC Singapore 8 is a six-storey data centre of about 100,882 sq ft located at 82 Genting Lane. It has advanced equipment and designs that reduce water consumption, and features to improve the energy efficiency of its data hall cooling and facility management systems.

The data centre is under construction and is set to complete in phases, with the first phase to be ready for service in 3Q2024. It will be operated and managed by Keppel’s Connectivity Division. Currently, it is already fully leased to clients from across the cloud services, internet enterprise and telecommunication sectors.

The data centre is the second of three planned complexes within the Keppel Data Centre campus. The first complex, Keppel DC Singapore 7, was awarded the BCA-Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) Green Mark (Platinum Award) in 2022.

The entire campus has an overall power usage effectiveness of about 1.3. The first two complexes were partially funded by capital from Keppel’s private fund Alpha Data Centre Fund, which is managed by Keppel Fund Management. The leasehold of the site is held by Memphis 1, a joint venture between Keppel and Cuscaden Peak Investments, with 60:40 stakes.
