Real estate consulting firm JLL has appointed James Cameron as its head of energy and infrastructure for Asia Pacific for its capital markets business line. The newly created role will be based in Singapore, the firm says in a Jan 14 press release.
Cameron will be responsible for building a team in Asia Pacific. According to JLL, his appointment will complement JLL’s energy and infrastructure advisory for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It also corresponds to Asia Pacific’s growing requirements to tackle the challenges of decarbonisation, digitalisation, economic growth and rapid urbanisation.
Stuart Crow, JLL Asia Pacific’s CEO of capital markets, says: “We see significant opportunity to leverage our unique expertise in mobilising multiple sources of capital and JLL’s unrivalled track record in advising renewables transactions globally to serve clients within energy and infrastructure across Asia Pacific.”

CapitaLand Investment Limited (CLI) announced several new appointments to its leadership bench on Jan 14.
Yvonne Siew has been appointed as managing director and head, product development and wealth markets, private capital markets, with effect from Jan 22. She will be responsible for leading product development, client services and marketing communications for CLI’s private funds. She will also drive the growth of CLI’s private wealth business. Siew joins CLI from the Bank of Singapore, where she was head of real estate advisory and investments.

Yong Su-Lin will assume the position of CEO of CapitaLand Malaysia REIT Management (CMRM), the manager of CapitaLand Malaysia Trust, on Feb 1. She joins from Lendlease Group, where she was managing director of Malaysia and China and interim CFO for Asia. Tan Choon Siang, the current CEO of CMRM, will be appointed deputy CEO of the manager for CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust.

Meanwhile, Suzanne Spells was appointed as CLI’s general counsel on Jan 1. Before joining CLI, Spells was the general counsel and chief compliance officer, Asia Pacific at Apollo Global Management and an Asia Pacific Executive Leadership team member.
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Asia Pacific has appointed Terri Seow as executive director for Singapore. Seow will oversee the non-profit education and research institute’s members in Singapore which total over 600.
