SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Ikea, through its partnership with interior design and renovations platform Livspace, is expanding to offer its interior design and renovation services at Ikea stores in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This follows the launch of Ikea’s standalone planning studio at Singapore’s Jurong Point mall last June. At the studio, customers can plan the renovation and fit-out their homes through the use of virtual technology. By scanning QR codes, they can change out the furniture, fittings and decor to visualise their ideal space, opting from a catalogue of Ikea merchandise on Livspace’s platform.

In Malaysia, services will be provided to customers at the Ikea outlets in Damansara and Cheras, facilitated by Ikea interior designers. Customers will get access to personalised design, quality home furnishings and installation work, transparent pricing, and guaranteed move-in timelines, Ikea and Livspace state in a press release.

Livspace started operations in India in 2015. In 2019, the company received funding from Ingka Investments, the venture-capital arm of Ikea parent company Ingka Group, following which it expanded its operations to Singapore. Malaysia is its third market, after India and Singapore.
