SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Through an affiliate company, Hyatt Hotels has signed management-related agreements with LFG Property to manage a Caption by Hyatt Hotel in Sydney, Australia. The new hotel is expected to be completed in 2025 and marks the debut of this brand in the country.
The 174-key hotel will be in Haymarket in the south of Sydney’s CBD, near landmarks such as the city’s Chinatown, Capitol Theatre, Darling Harbour, Sydney International Convention Centre, several universities and the new Tech Central innovation and technology precinct.
A contemporary and urban industrial style will anchor the hotel's design, and the property will feature a layering of colours, textures and hand-drawn graphic art that will decorate social and dining spaces.
The international hotel chain calls the Caption brand an ‘upscale, lifestyle-forward hotel with the flexibility and self-guided options of a select-service property’. Properties managed under this brand feature technologies such as digital check-in, digital keys, and mobile-order food service.
The first Caption-branded hotel by Hyatt opened in Memphis, in the US, in 2022. Hyatt says it has planned further openings for Australia, China, Japan and Vietnam over the next two years. “As a brand centred on enabling authentic connections and experiences for today’s tech-savvy traveller, this new development will create an environment where guests and locals alike can feel at home in a space that reflects the character of the community,” says David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific at Hyatt.
