SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - GuocoLand announced that it has appointed Peter Lee Wai Mun as the new country managing director for its wholly-owned subsidiary GuocoLand China, to overseas GuocoLand’s business in China, including its portfolio of development and investment assets. Lee’s appointment takes effect from April 1. He takes over the reins from Hoon Teck Ming, who has relinquished his role.

Lee’s last role was as deputy head of business development with Keppel Land China. While at Keppel, he was instrumental in the acquisition and management of several development projects, and oversaw joint ventures with Chinese partners. He also led multiple business development teams in key China cities.
Before joining Keppel Land, Lee was a regional director at International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore), where he founded and led the Western China operations, helping Singapore companies secure business opportunities in Western China. He led the Secretariat for the Singapore Sichuan Trade & Investment Council as well as worked closely with senior officials and entrepreneurs from Singapore and China while at IE Singapore. He helped establish IE Singapore’s Xi’an office and subsequently served as the head of the Singapore Consulate in Chengdu.

GuocoLand has been growing its portfolio of investment properties through its design and development of large-scale, mixed-use developments in key Asian markets such as China, Malaysia and Singapore.
In Singapore’s CBD, GuocoLand owns and manages its flagship development Guoco Tower, Singapore’s tallest building. Its upcoming Guoco Midtown is expected to be completed in phases starting with its 30-storey Grade-A office tower in 4Q2022.
