Surbana Jurong Group has appointed Professor Cheong Koon Hean to its board of directors. In a Jan 6 press release, the company says her appointment will strengthen Surbana Jurong’s ability to deliver innovative, resilient and sustainable solutions for the built environment.
Cheong was CEO of HDB from 2010 to 2020, after previously serving as CEO of URA from 2004 to 2010. She is currently the chair of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities and Professor of Practice at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. She is also chairman of the Centre for Liveable Cities Advisory Panel under the Ministry of National Development.
Additionally, Cheong serves on the boards of the National University of Singapore and CapitaLand Group and is Singapore’s non-resident ambassador to Finland.
