The final batch of Build-To-Order (BTO) flats for 2017 has been launched, and are spread across five projects in both non-mature and mature towns. The 4,829 BTO flats launched in November offer a mix of different sized units to cater to family of all sizes.
To be completed between 2Q2021 and 2Q2022, residents of these upcoming developments can look forward to enhanced facilities, and greater convenience and connectivity as HDB continues to develop sustainable and community-centric towns.
In this article, we will look at both existing and upcoming amenities, as well as the various lifestyle options surrounding these BTO projects:
Non-Mature Towns
1) Northshore Edge in Punggol

Northshore Edge derives its name from the development’s location at the periphery of the Northshore district of Punggol Eco-Town, the first of its kind in Singapore. The development is bound by Northshore Drive and Punggol way, and focuses on multiple initiatives for sustainable living through effective energy, water and waste management.
They include separate chutes for recyclable waste, eco-pedestals in bathrooms to encourage water conservation, use of sustainable and recycled products in the development, and design features to clean rainwater and beautify the landscape and surrounding environment.
The development comprises three residential blocks, with heights ranging from 21 to 22 storeys. The four-room flats span 1,033.34 sq ft, while the five-room units span 1,227.09 sq ft.
It is located right opposite Marina Country Club, a choice docking area for seafaring adventurers and water-sport enthusiasts that is open to the public on a pay-per-use basis. It is also close to the upcoming Northshore Plaza 1, slated to be the first seafront neighbourhood centre to be built in a HDB estate. Northshore Plaza 1 is due for a 2020 completion and will house a supermarket, food courts, restaurants, shops, childcare centres and enrichment centres.

Anchorville Village

Anchorvale Village is bounded by Anchorvale Street and Anchorvale Road, and comprises two 15-storey residential blocks. It offers units two-room Flexi units of 409 sq ft, and three-room flats of 732 sq ft.
Designed as an integrated commercial and residential hub, the development will offer an array of dining and shopping options, such as a hawker centre and a neighbourhood centre. Its commercial facilities will be located on the lower floors, while the residential units will be set on higher floors.
It will also house a sheltered community plaza for residents to participate in community events. Further, landscaped spaces at the roof garden will facilitate interaction amongst residents, to foster a strong community spirit.
Fernvale Glades

The development by Sengkang West Way and Sengkang West Road comprises 1,300 units of two-room Flexi (420 sq ft) , and three-, four-, five-room, and 3Gen flats ranging between 732 sq ft and 1,281 sq ft. They are housed within 10 residential blocks that stand 14-storeys high. There will be two additional residential blocks of rental flats at the project, making a total of 12 residential blocks at Fernvale Glades.
Inspired by forest glades, the development features open green spaces, which serve as ideal venues for relaxation and recreational activities. It is located in vicinity of schools such as Fernvale Primary School, Fernvale Gardens School (Special School), Sengkang Green Primary School and Pei Hwa Secondary School, and is close to Seletar Mall.

The name “Eunos Court” takes reference from the development's courtyard-like spaces within the landscape. Bounded by Eunos Avenue 5, Eunos Crescent, and Eunos Road 2, the development comprises six residential blocks ranging from six to 19 storeys, and a two-storey commercial block.
The total of 742 units includes two-room Flexi ranging between 409 sq ft and 506 sq ft, and three-and four-room flats spanning 732 sq ft and 1,001 sq ft respectively.

Tampines Green Court is nestled within the tranquil living environment of Tampines North, with several nearby parks. Bounded by Tampines North Drive 2, Tampines Street 62, and Tampines Avenue 12, the development comprises 19 residential blocks with heights ranging from seven to 16 storeys.
It is located approximately 740m away from Tampines. Feeder buses are available at a shorter walking distance, but that will mean additional time for your daily commute.
Units of two-room flexi ranging between 441 sq ft and 506 sq ft, three-,four-, and five-room flats spanning 732 sq ft, 990 sq ft and 1,001 sq ft, and 1,216 sq ft respectively are available at the development.
Of the 4,829 BTO units offered in the November launch, a total of 80% or 3,880 units will be constructed using the Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) method to boost construction productivity. The PPVC method reduces the number of workers needed at construction sites.
According to HDB, about 22 per cent of BTO flats launched collectively in 2017 will be constructed using PPVC. The board added that it aims to adopt PPVC for 35 per cent of BTO units launched by 2019.
