Global sustainability consultancy Environmental Resources Management (ERM) has announced the expansion of its Southeast Asia hub in Singapore.

“Supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), ERM's expansion will help deepen its sustainability impact with leading organisations in Asia,” the company states in a May 17 press release.

The expanded hub will serve as a focal point for the firm’s regional activities, allowing it to better serve its clients in the region.

The expansion includes the creation of up to 40 new roles in areas like new energy; integrated environmental, social and governance due diligence; monitoring, reporting & verification; and sustainable asset retirement.

"We are excited to deepen our roots in Singapore and contribute even further to the region's sustainable development goals,” says Tom Reichert, group CEO at ERM.

Lim Wey-Len, executive vice president of EDB, adds that the expansion of ERM's regional hub in Singapore will deepen the country’s capabilities in areas such as carbon markets, the deployment of hydrogen as an alternative energy source and the early decommissioning of coal plants.

ERM currently employs over 8,000 experts in 40 countries and territories to help their clients create solutions to sustainability challenges.
