At the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards 2024, The People’s Choice Award for the most popular co-living project in Singapore went to Coliwoo Orchard, a 22-storey property at 2 Mount Elizabeth Link managed by mainboard-listed real estate services company LHN Group.

Coliwoo garnered more than a third of the votes received for the co-living category and emerged the winner.

Coliwoo Orchard is the largest co-living property managed by Coliwoo, LHN’s sole residential management business in Singapore under its space optimisation business arm. LHN is also engaged in a variety of commercial and industrial space management businesses, facilities management, and property development and investment.

Its Coliwoo co-living brand was introduced to the market five years ago. Through rapid acquisitions and an aggressive growth strategy to capture market share, it has become a dominant player in the flexible and short-term accommodation market.

"As Singapore’s largest co-living player by number of keys, we also recognise that the award serves as an encouraging validation from the community that we are on the right track in delivering effective and innovative co-living solutions. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to providing pleasing and productive co-living spaces to our members, complementing the country’s existing housing landscape with fuss-free, simplified rental processes," says Kelvin Lim, executive chairman, executive director & group managing director of LHN Group and founder of Coliwoo.

LHN signed a lease agreement in 2021 to manage the property at 2 Mount Elizabeth Link, and subsequently launched the serviced apartment property as Coliwoo Orchard in February 2023. It is also Coliwoo’s flagship property in Singapore.

The 22-storey residential tower houses a total of 411 keys across 135 units. Six room types are available — an Alcove Studio, Premier Studio, Deluxe Studio, Master Studio, Standard Studio, and Grand Studio. "Since Coliwoo Orchard’s launch, we have seen a whopping 5,112 members stay at the property," says Lim.

Each unit is fully furnished with a queen-sized bed, an en suite bathroom, kitchenette, and a smart TV. Coliwoo also offers flexible lease terms to accommodate short- to long-term stays starting from six nights.

The interior of each unit reflects a warm colour palette with brass touches, gold, and wood tones that evoke high-end hospitality and serviced apartment offerings in the area. The exterior of the development showcases a  80m-high mural by local artist Sam Lo.

Coliwoo Orchard also offers a much wider range of resident amenities compared to typical co-living properties on the market. For example, it boasts a swimming pool, a children’s pool, a Jacuzzi, a gym, barbeque pits, and a co-working lounge.

"We’ve noted the cultural shift of consumers’ preferences with increasing demand for residential spaces that offer more than just accommodation, but also opportunities for socialising and building communities. Coliwoo provides just that, as we are strongly dedicated to building vibrant communities among our members," says Lim.

Some of the events organised for residents include weekly bicycle rides in collaboration with Brompton, Chinese New Year celebration, Halloween event, Deepavali celebration, and durian parties.

Lim adds: "Our prime location in the heart of Orchard makes daily life incredibly convenient, offering easy access to shopping, dining and public transport. Additionally, members value our member benefits, which include exclusive promotions and perks from our partners and sister company, Work+Store. These partnerships help enhance our community members’ lifestyle, offering both convenience and added value to their stay".

Leveraging the expertise of LHN Group, Coliwoo has been able to implement a number of sustainability initiatives to its projects including Coliwoo Orchard. An example is offsetting energy consumption from the grid by tapping into renewable energy through solar panels. This year, Coliwoo Orchard attained the Low Carbon SG certification by the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition Singapore, in recognition of its environmental sustainability contributions.

Coliwoo’s commanding market presence in the local co-living and flexible accommodation market looks set to continue, as the company focuses on honing its brand and transitioning from a rapid growth strategy towards the scale and consolidation of its real estate portfolio.
