AsiaMalls Management announced on Aug 16 a $60 million investment to refurbish the decades-old Century Square mall in Tampines. The asset enhancement initiative (AEI) is expected to be completed in 2H2018.

Century Square is the third mall in AsiaMalls’ portfolio to undergo an AEI. Tiong Bahru and White Sands completed their AEI in 2016 and saw a double-digit increase in foot traffic after that.

AsiaMalls has curated the tenant mix based on feedback from focus groups with the community. Going by what customers want, half of the tenants — among them Filmgarde and Mahota Market — will be new to Century Square when it reopens next year.
