SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - City Developments Limited (CDL) has ranked 28th in the 2023 Global 100 ranking, maintaining its position as the highest-ranking real estate company globally, as well as the best-performing Singapore company.
The Global 100, compiled annually by Toronto-based media and investment research firm Corporate Knights, ranks the world’s most sustainable companies. For this year’s list, over 6,700 companies with more than US$1 billion ($1.33 billion) in revenues were evaluated on a set of key performance indicators covering resource management, employee management, financial management, sustainable revenue and sustainable investment, and supplier performance.
“CDL is honoured to be included in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for the 14th consecutive year,” remarks Sherman Kwek, CDL group CEO, in a Jan 18 press release. “As the world converges towards its net-zero ambitions, CDL will continue to contribute steadfastly to this global agenda – a sustainability journey we started more than two decades ago.”
CapitaLand was also recognised in the Global 100, ranking 56th in the list – an improvement of 19 spots over its previous year’s ranking. The company has now made the Global 100 list for 11 years running. “CLI’s consistent inclusion in prestigious indices such as the Global 100, Dow Jones Sustainability Indices and GRESB is testament to our global sustainability leadership in real estate,” says Vinamra Srivastava, CLI’s chief sustainability officer.
